Would you like to help shape our research?

The knowledge and experience of people living with neurological conditions, and those caring for them, is important to us as we carry out our research. We want to work closely with patients and the public to help us prioritise and design our research studies.

Why would I help shape research?

People work with research teams for many reasons. Some people want to give back to the NHS and some want to share their experiences to inform future care for people with similar conditions.

I participate in research as it is one way of helping science move forward, benefitting others with its findings

What could I be asked to do?

There are a number of different ways in which you could help us.

  • Helping to design a survey to ensure we are asking questions that are meaningful and understood
  • Reading and commenting on a document to make sure that it is easily understood
  • Attending a meeting to discuss our research progress and consider new areas for study

How much time will I need?

We give people the opportunity to contribute in areas that are of interest to them. Some activities may be a short one-off period of time and some may require longer input. We are able to offer payment for your involvement for example towards travel costs. If you need extra support to take part we are happy to guide you through it.
